About Me
Hello! My name is Spencer Simons and I am a Game Designer with a focus on Level & Mission/Quest Design.

I worked as a Level Design Intern for the single player team at Sledgehammer Games and earned an extension to help ship 2023's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. I also have an education in Game Design from Academy of Art University.

Games have always been a lifelong passion of mine. I am endlessly excited to be part of the industry and to learn more so I can bring my ideas to others and provide the same fun and escapism I have cherished. My time at Sledgehammer boosted my confidence in my abilities as a designer along with working with a large team under a tight deadline.

Taking tremendous pride in my work, I believe that my commitment to quality is why they extended my original internship contract, along with how I prioritize excellent communication, meaningful collaboration, and self-motivation to solve problems thoroughly and complete tasks on time. I am excited to help make amazing games and see where this journey leads me to next.

AAUÂ Game Design 2023:Â Â Best in Show
Plague is a collaborative project that I helped work on in Unreal Engine 5 that was awarded the most prestigious award in our Game Design program. I contributed to quest design as well as UI where we combined amazing art with engaging environmental storytelling for a demo that captured a magical feel with how well blended the level and our other design elements were within it.

AAUÂ Game Design 2023:Â Runner-Up for Best Full Game
Guardian Heroes was a homage to a Sega Saturn 2D Beat-em up game I love that I built in Unity from the ground up, developing the "lane-change" mechanic that made that title so unique. I spent 6 months working on the prototype and it earned the reward based on its uniqueness and polish.
